Planning a trip? Check out the Indian Mountain State Park website.
Surface mining once dominated these lands at the base of a mountain near the state’s northern border. Reclaimed and converted to a recreation area, visitors can fish, hike, camp, paddle, and picnic near Indian Mountain Lake, Ballard Lake, and smaller ponds within this park created in 1971. Ranger-led programs and hikes occur regularly while annual events include Ranger Camp, duck races, and runs.
