The park surrounding the White House is approximately 82 acres and is home for many significant statues, memorials and structures which give context to our lives today. It is divided into two sections—the Northern Trail through Lafayette Park and the Southern Trail through the Ellipse. The Zero Milestone, a four-foot-high pink granite shaft, marks the symbolic center of the District of Columbia.
