At 10,152 feet, North America’s highest incorporated city preserves its rich Old West boomtown history through Victorian architecture, mining remnants and museums. Downtown strollers visit restaurants, shops, galleries and an 1870s saloon that has hosted many prominent historical figures. Every March, since 1949, the town hosts one of the country’s premier ski joring competitions.
