Most of this Civil War battlefield where almost 2,000 soldiers became casualties has given way to urban development. The small remaining portion recalls a two-day battle in 1864 that saw Union forces fight off Confederate attacks and protect Northern supply lines during General William T. Sherman’s Atlanta Campaign.
