The nation’s highest court did not get its permanent home until 1935, but it was worth the wait. The “Marble Palace” is a building befitting the institution’s role. In addition to attending courtroom proceedings, visitors may tour portions of the edifice. Highlights include busts of the former chief justices, portraits, the John Marshall statue and two marble-and-bronze spiral staircases.
