Over 4,000 acres in Idaho protect one of the world’s most significant fossil deposits from the late Pliocene epoch. A rancher unearthed fossils near Snake River in 1928 and later expeditions uncovered hundreds of new and known species of plants and animals. Remains of over 200 Hagerman Horses in all life stages are among the finds.
