Abundant mineral springs in Northwest Arkansas led to this city’s founding in 1880 as a spa destination. Victorian homes from this era are preserved in the Historic District with the downtown area listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Ozarks welcome hikers and mountain bikers, lakes and rivers cater to water sports, and below ground, living caves and caverns are open for exploration.
