This unique place is a real-deal 1800s mining boomtown gone bust. Bodie's remains are preserved in a state of "arrested decay," not restored. Buildings, vehicles, equipment and relics in this ghost town once home to more than 10,000 souls remain as they were found. Visitors stroll past structures where people lived, worked, worshipped, went to school, and pursued their vices.
