Tennessee’s 36th Governor lived along a freshwater river considered the continent’s most biologically diverse. Over 1,500 acres of this former estate support outdoor recreation and an educational exhibit space teaches about protecting this unique ecosystem. Miles of hiking trails explore hardwood forest, cedar glades, sink holes, riverbank, and remnants of early mill and farm operations.
