Tucked away in the Morro Bay Lagoon is a park which protects not only coastline and a bay, but saltwater and brackish marshes. Otters pepper the bay at the base of the park’s most prominant feature, the 581-foot volcanic plug, Morro Rock. Birdwatchers can find ample opportunities for viewing a thriving bird population, while those wishing to find recreational activities can sail, hike or surf year-round.
