The 1.3 million acres of this forest span northeastern Utah and southwestern Wyoming protecting three geographical areas. Over 1,000 miles of trails traverse the slopes of the Uinta Mountains, Wyoming Basin, and Tavaputs Plateau. Visitors can be found recreating in Flaming Gorge country, summiting Utah's tallest peak (King's Peak - 13,528ft), and sightseeing along the forest's scenic byway and backways.
