In 1909, the adobe brick building opened as a segregated school serving Marfa's Hispanic children. The practice of "separate but equal" in local education ended with school district integration in 1965, but the schoolhouse, a smaller classroom building, interpretive panels, photos, and memorabilia still shed light on an important story.

While you're here, don't forget to grab our Marfa stamp.
