Rockefeller Center - Christmas Edition
$3.99
Official Travel Stamp Vinyl Sticker
On Christmas Eve 1931, at the height of the Great Depression, construction workers and their families pooled money to buy and decorate a Christmas tree to lift their spirits. Two years later, the tree lighting at Rockefeller Center became an annual tradition and in 1936 the skating rink was opened below. On the Wednesday following Thanksgiving, the tree is ceremoniously lit by the NYC Mayor and broadcasted live.
