Located in a massive depression created by a volcanic eruption more than a million years ago, this International Dark Sky Park puts on some of the world’s most amazing nighttime celestial displays. Streams teeming with brown and rainbow trout flow through forest-rimmed meadows grazed by a huge elk herd. Hikers, snowshoers and cross- country skiers hit the trails at this former ranch property.
