As they walk through spectacular desert scenery, hikers on the trail to this 133-foot-wide, 125-foot-tall natural arch see signs of the Fremont people who lived in the area more than 10 centuries ago. The trail passes an ancient granary where food and grain were stored and the foundation remains of a primitive pithouse residence.
