Completed in 1832, the Ohio & Erie Canal traveled through the Cuyahoga Valley on its course between Lake Erie and the Ohio River. The canal expedited commerce between Ohio and the East, bringing prosperity and population growth. Visitors view exhibits inside the former tavern and a reconstructed canal lock outside.
