At the end of a steep and rocky 1.2-mile trail, permitted hikers find themselves at a rare travertine lake nestled within Glenwood Canyon. Centuries of deposition from the Bridal Veil Falls built up the lake’s edge and allowed a fragile ecosystem to flourish. Moss, ferns, wildflowers, and Dipper birds find solace along the lake’s sensitive blue-green waters.
